PROGRAM OF HUMANITARIAN AID TO THE JEWISH POPULATION OF UKRAINE
The Jewish Humanitarian Assistance Program is a multifaceted initiative that addresses the diverse needs of Jewish communities in Ukraine.
At the heart of the humanitarian aid program is relief. During martial law, this includes the distribution of food, water, shelter, clothing and medicines to those in need. In addition, social support services are offered to vulnerable members of the community such as the elderly, children and the disabled.
Food and hygiene packages
As one of the most organized and structured organizations in Ukraine, our Federation has become a vital lifeline due to our strategic geographic location. We provide humanitarian assistance to tens of thousands of people across the country. Our dedicated team of volunteers regularly packs and distributes over 50,000 aid packages. We continuously deliver essential food supplies throughout Ukraine, with a particular focus on hard-to-reach areas. In addition to food packages, we provide humanitarian kits that include household chemicals, diapers for children and adults, and other essential hygiene products. These large food and aid packages offer critical.

Medical aid campaign
The Federation of Jewish Communities of Ukraine (FJCU), together with Friends of Jewish Community of Ukraine, launched a large-scale medical relief campaign to support both Jewish communities and healthcare institutions across Ukraine during the COVID pandemic and the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Over 5,000 community members from 26 cities were vaccinated and received medical check-ups, meals, and accommodation. More than 50,000 protective packages with masks, sanitizers, and vitamins were distributed to strengthen health and safety.
Beyond direct community support, FJCU and its partners provided crucial assistance to hospitals and clinics facing severe shortages of medicines and supplies. More than 50,000 first-aid kits filled with essential drugs were delivered, along with specially equipped vehicles to transport the injured and people with disabilities to medical facilities. This effort has helped hospitals continue saving lives despite limited resources and the pressures of crisis.
BRINGING JEWISH HOLIDAYS TO EVERY COMMUNITY
FJCU's project aims to make it easy and joyful for Jewish families across Ukraine to celebrate five major Jewish holidays in their own homes. The project pro-vides families and communities with comprehensive holiday guides, cooking supplies, decorations, and all the necessary resources to create an authentic holiday atmosphere.
Through this project, we support successful festive events and promote aware-ness and understanding of Jewish traditions and customs. Each year, the proj-ect reaches 50,000 families in 272 cities and settlemnets across Ukraine with packages of essential items for celebrating the holidays of Tishrei, Chanukah, Purim, Pesach, and Shavuot.
By providing resources and information, FJCU helps
families honor and pass on their rich cultural heritage, fostering a strong and vibrant Jewish community in Ukraine.

Electric car distribution project

Project was a crucial initiative in response to the fuel shortage during the early stages of the war.
With no access to fuel, we distributed 40 electric cars among Jewish communities in Ukraine, enabling volunteers to deliver hot meals, food packages and life-saving medicines to the elderly and disabled.
These electric cars proved to be the perfect solution, offering a sustainable and reliable mode of transportation. By utilizing these vehicles, volunteers over-came logistical challenges and ensured that critical supplies reached those in need efficiently.
Mitzvah mobile project
Continuing the "Tanks against assimilation" campaign by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, we support Mitzvah Mobile project in Ukraine.
Our synagogue-on-wheels introduces thousands of Jews to the rich heritage of Jewish tradition culture and values.
Every year since 2017, 12 young enthusiastic rabbis set out on a journey across a 100 remote Ukrainian settlements, which do not have a synagogue or an established Jewish community.
Since the pandemic hit Ukraine, they travel not only for the outreach and education, but also for the support of the most vulnerable members of
the Jewish communities with humanitarian relief packages.
People obtain a sense of belonging to the Jewish nation and a certainty of receiving help in difficult times. We ensure no one feels alone or forgotten. Together, we make a lasting difference.

Holocaust remembrance
Over 300 diplomats and politicians from all over the world visited Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center to commemorate the memory of the victims.
Our strong collaboration with representatives of the European Union, esteemed Politicians, and diplomats enables us to organize meaningful Remembrance ceremonies, ensuring that the voices of the past are heard and honored.
"Nowadays, it is more important than ever to remind ourselves of the universal lessons of the Holocaust, as the war in Ukraine
has disturbing echoes of the 1930-40s. We must never forget the horrendous crime against humanity that occurred years
ago, we must stop the Holocaust history from being distorted and misappropriated. All the nations should unite in the face of the terror and prevent history from repeating itself" - Rabbi Mayer Stambler
